If you add the forum as a source, its pages are loaded directly from the forum, which receives your IP address, session cookies and the app name as with a browser. You sign in on the forum's own page; Hóng never reads or stores your password. News sources are loaded directly from each site with the Hong-User token and no cookies; Lao Động and QĐND open in an in-app browser whose data is discarded on close. If you turn on new-story alerts, iOS lets Hóng poll your chosen sources' feeds a few times a day (Hong-Refresh, never the forum); matching and notifications happen on the device as local notifications. Purchases are handled by Apple. Public files on GitHub Pages (the status file, the page-reading templates and the source directory) are fetched at most every 6 hours without cookies and receive nothing from you; GitHub sees your IP address as with any website. History, the sources you add, the interest profile (stories you open, read, save or skip — stored separately, encrypted while the device is locked and left out of backups), hidden posts, ignored members, filters and drafts stay on your device.
